Our Saturday morning project

The boy is all about his entertainment center. And I guess he never planned to get a cable box. Since we’ve moved in together, we have been talking about getting a new entertainment center because as you see in the picture below, ours is too small.

We had looked at Walmart, Target, K-Mart and Sam’s Club, but found nothing we liked. We decided we needed to expand our search. I guess the problem was our criteria:

  • Didn’t want to spend more than $200.

  • Wanted something that either had a stand with TV mount or a tall stand so the TV would sit higher.

  • Something sturdy.

  • Something that if was just a table stand, would look OK on its own as a console table.

  • No glass.

  • Something that would match our current furniture.

And after weeks of looking, we finally got one! We bought this one from hhgregg, a store I would not normally shop in. It fit most of our criteria. It did cost more than we wanted to spend, but the old one was $150. I guess we got a deal on this one. The guy sold the $350 stand to us for $299. It took us about an hour to put it together, move everything and then put our living room back together. I think our fun morning project was a success. Now, on to lunch and hopefully a doggy date!
